Mission Statement

To provide a safe and inclusive environment for residents of Burlington and the surrounding areas to learn and play softball regardless of prior experience and skill level.

To facilitate our Mission Statement we will ensure that the following principles are met by all participants (players, coaches, umpires, volunteers, spectators):

  •  To show respect and act in a respectful manner at all times to all participants including opposing teams and the community.
  • To allow all players an equal opportunity to participate.
  • To create a positive environment.
  • To promote teamwork and an attitude of enthusiasm and effort.
  • To ensure that softball is fun for all players, regardless of age, race, orientation or ability.

As an organization we will strive to provide opportunities to learn and improve skills.

BASA Adult modified fastball league

BASAs modified fastball league is for all adults aged 18 and older (ages 16/17 if they have past ball experience and a parent plays as well)


Registration will open Jan 3rd 2023,  tell your friends.   Teams will be made based on the number of pitchers and catchers we get signed up.

Pitching Clinics

BASA Pitching clinics are open to all BASA members.  Clinics are run by our own pitching coaches  Adam, Tim and Victoria 
 

Location - Glad Tidings Church Gym

Monday evenings 

Dates:  Jan - 16, 23, 30

                 Feb 6, 13, 27

                 March 6, 20, 27

                 April 3,10 

Fee:  $120 per player 

Mite - 6-7pm  Max 9 pitchers

Squirt- 7-8pm  Max 8 pitchers

Novice, Bantam, Midget - 8-9 pm.  Max 8 pitchers

All pitchers must bring a catcher each night.  Catchers must be capable catchers.

Note - Due to limited space and cost there will be no refunds for canceling

Winter Training

BASAs Winter Indoor Training will begin in January at the Fieldhouse.

This training  camp is run by the BASA select coaches and will work on further player development.   This training will prepare players for the select tryouts in April and the regular softball season. 

Location - The Fieldhouse   
Saturday evenings for 12 weeks

Starts January 14 - April 15 (no training March 11 or 18) 

Fee  $240 per player (includes a shirt)

Mite : 6-7pm

Squirt : 7-8pm

Novice, Bantam & Midget: 8-9pm

New rules for 2023

After discussions with surrounding associations  BASA  has decided, for the safety of the players, to make it mandatory that all infielders wear a fielders mask, this will be for ages 9 and older ( divisions mite, squirt,novice,bantam and midget)  NO EXCEPTIONS  

It’s not mandatory for Outfielders but highly recommended. 
 

All batters must have a cage on there helmet ages 9and older 

 

Mite division 

No more pitching machine.   Player pitch, if a batter get 4 balls the coach will come pitch up to 2 balls.  Last half of the season player pitch only.

 

Soft toss division

Last half of the season switch to coach pitch 
 

 

High School Students Needed!!

 

High school students - need to get some volunteer hours??  
We need your help. We need a few students to help with our indoor training. Running the pitching machines, set up and working with the players.

BASA IS LOOKING FOR A FEW NEW BOARD MEMBERS

We are looking for a few new board members for the following areas.

- Sponsorship coordinator 

- Umpire coordinator 

- Web Master

- Event Committee members - (opening day, All Star games, closing day and BBQS)

These positions  are not difficult, just need people with the skills for each position. New members will work with current member to learn the position.  Come join the team and make BASA better

Select 2023

BASA select teams will hold tryouts in April 2023. Following the winter training.  All players interested in playing select are encouraged to join the winter training as this is advanced training and will prep players for the upcoming season and tryouts. 

We currently have coaches confirmed for all divisions ages U11 and older .

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR 2023

BASA needs more volunteers for the 2023 Season.

Please consider joining our team of volunteers in providing the best softball experience for over 200 boys and girls this Summer.

BASA is looking for help with the following;

  • Umpire Coordinator
  • Sponsorship Coordinator 
  • Web Master
  • Event Committee Members

UMPIRES WANTED

BASA is looking for more Umpires for the 2023 Season.  No prior experience is needed.  BASA and Softball Ontario offers free training to those interested.   1 Day training course will be held in the Spring.  BASA covers all costs for training, shirt, hat and protective equipment.  More info can be found here.
