-Umpire in chief- Assist umpires if theres any issues and step in if we are short on umpires for a game.

The BMFL registration will open Jan 2 for the 2026 season
The BMFL is a co-ed modified fastball league. Modified fastball has all the same rules as fastball except the pitching is under hand motion only. no windmill.
Games are played on Monday evenings at either 6:30pm or 8:45pm
Games have 2 umpires per games.

Season runs from mid May to the end of September. (no long weekends) Ending the season with the BMFL Bash in October
BMFL is open to anyone ages 18-100+. (Players ages 16 &17 can join if they have previous ball experience and a parent playing as well)
BASA is looking for Umpires for the 2026 Season. No prior experience is needed. BASA and Softball Ontario offers free training to those interested. 1 Day training course will be held in the Spring. BASA covers all costs for training, shirt and protective equipment. More info can be found here.

It is mandatory that all infielders ages 10 and older wear a fielders mask. (divisions: mite, squirt, novice, bantam and midget) NO EXCEPTIONS It’s not mandatory for outfielders but highly recommended.
All batters MUST have a cage on their helmet ages 10 and older.
All Select players are required to wear a fielders mask when playing infield. Along with a full cage batting helmet when batting.
To provide a safe and inclusive environment for residents of Burlington and the surrounding areas to learn and play softball regardless of prior experience and skill level.
To facilitate our Mission Statement we will ensure that the following principles are met by all participants (players, coaches, umpires, volunteers, spectators):
As an organization we will strive to provide opportunities to learn and improve skills.
If for any reason you choose to withdraw yourself or your child from registration prior to the season commencement there will be a $50 processing fee subtracted from your refund. Any refund requested after season commencement will have a $50 processing fee deducted and 50% of the registration fee will be withheld to cover the costs incurred for uniforms, equipment, diamonds, umpires etc. Season commencement is considered to be April 1st, as team formations begin at that time.
